For the finals of the World Table Tennis Saudi Smash (May 2024), a traditional broadcast finals teaser was transformed into a fully immersive, arena-wide opening show. While the Infinity Arena layout was already established, the 60-second TV teaser was reimagined as a spatial experience designed specifically for the venue.
A dedicated version of the content was created for the main LED wall, while timed animations activated the full LED ecosystem, including the court perimeter LEDs. All elements were precisely synchronised to function as one connected visual system and integrated with a bespoke light show, developed in close collaboration with the event’s lighting designer and fully synced to the music track.
The result was a unified opening performance that worked simultaneously as a broadcast finals intro and a live, in-arena show, elevating a familiar TV format into a shared experience for both audiences.
The entire project was delivered under extreme time pressure, with a total turnaround of just 10 hours. Finalists were confirmed after the semi-finals the evening before, with all animations and teaser edits completed overnight, files tested in the morning, broadcast versions delivered, and the full arena show rehearsed and executed ahead of the finals.
